This year's BECE saw participation from 569,236 candidates, including 282,703 males and 286,533 females, representing 19,505 schools. Conducted at 2,123 centers across the nation, the exam had 3,845 absentees.
For private candidates, a total of 1,390 registered, consisting of 750 males and 640 females, with 57 absent. These candidates completed their exams at 15 centers, mainly located in regional capitals.
Addressing Irregularities
WAEC has taken measures to uphold the integrity of the examination process. Following thorough investigations, the council has canceled the subject results of 377 school candidates and three private candidates for offenses such as bringing unauthorized materials into the exam hall or collusion. Additionally, 41 school candidates and one private candidate face total result cancellations, while results for 33 school candidates and three private candidates are currently withheld pending further inquiries.
