GES Director-General Hints at Possible Recruitment of University and Diploma Graduates Awaiting for Financial Clearance

In a promising update for education graduates in Ghana, Dr. Eric Nkansah, Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has hinted at an upcoming recruitment initiative. This initiative aims to include both Diploma and Bachelor of Education degree holders, reflecting a pivotal move following the recent launch of the GES recruitment portal for degree holders from public colleges of education.

The newly introduced portal signifies a significant shift in GES's approach to teacher placement. For the first time, degree holders have the autonomy to self-post by selecting preferred regions, districts, and schools for their placements. This streamlined process allows candidates to generate their appointment letters online, which are then finalized with regional education directorates.

During a recent press briefing titled "Recruitment of First Batch of Degree Holders (2022) from Public Colleges of Education," broadcast on Dr. Nkansah's official Facebook page, he elaborated on the new self-posting module's benefits. Responding to inquiries, Dr. Nkansah confirmed the ongoing efforts to obtain financial clearance from the Ministry of Education for the recruitment of university graduates and diploma holders.

Once financial clearance is secured, Dr. Nkansah assured that the recruitment process for these graduates will promptly commence. He emphasized that the self-posting mechanism will extend not only to public college degree holders but also to university graduates, ensuring equal opportunities for all qualified candidates.

In his address, Dr. Nkansah underscored GES's commitment to transparency and efficiency in recruitment, promising a fair and timely process free from bureaucratic delays. This initiative forms part of broader efforts to modernize the recruitment process, making it accessible and efficient for all graduates.

Dr. Nkansah commended the patience and dedication of graduates eagerly anticipating these opportunities, acknowledging their crucial role in shaping Ghana's educational landscape. He reiterated GES's unwavering support throughout the recruitment and onboarding phases.

This development signifies a significant stride in addressing employment needs among education graduates in Ghana, showcasing GES's dedication to providing ample opportunities for new teachers. The introduction of the self-posting module aims to enhance placement efficiency, benefiting both graduates and the educational institutions they will serve.

As GES moves closer to securing financial clearance, graduates are urged to stay informed through official channels and prepare for the forthcoming recruitment exercise.
