Unveiling Truth: Ghana Armed Forces' Preliminary Report on the Tragic Kasoa Incident

In a somber turn of events, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has disclosed its initial findings regarding the tragic demise of a soldier in Kasoa, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the heartbreaking incident.

According to the preliminary investigative report, Lance Corporal Danso Michael, the deceased, accompanied his fellow soldiers, Lance Corporal Omar Abdul Rahman and Lance Corporal Ametus Matthew, to a disputed half plot of land located in Millennium City, Kasoa.

The report outlines that Lance Corporal Omar Abdul Rahman, the alleged owner of the land in question, was informed of unauthorized activity on the property. In response, Omar, accompanied by his colleagues, ventured to the site to verify the information and subsequently halted the ongoing work. Following this intervention, they proceeded to the Millennium City Police Station to formally report the matter.

However, the situation took a tragic turn when, during their visit to the police station, the purported owner of the land arrived at the scene accompanied by two individuals believed to be land guards. A confrontation ensued, culminating in gunfire directed at Lance Corporal Danso Michael, who was tragically struck by the bullets as he attempted to park a vehicle at the police station.

In a swift response, the police intervened, disarming and apprehending the individual responsible for the fatal shots. Despite their efforts, Lance Corporal Danso succumbed to his injuries, with his body subsequently transferred to the 37 Military Hospital morgue.

The release of this preliminary report marks a crucial step towards understanding the events leading up to the soldier's untimely demise. As investigations continue, the Ghana Armed Forces remains committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice for the fallen soldier and his grieving family.
