Suame Interchange Project Set for Completion by End of 2024, President Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has provided a promising update on the Suame Interchange project, assuring that its first phase will be finalized by the close of 2024. This initiative reflects the government's unwavering commitment to addressing longstanding traffic concerns in the region.

During a recent address, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the commencement of major works at the Suame Interchange, responding directly to the persistent issues faced by local motorists. Highlighting the strategic significance of projects such as the dualisation of the Ofankor-Nsawam and Adenta roads, he underscored their role beyond mere infrastructure upgrades, citing them as pivotal solutions to real-life challenges.

"The Akufo-Addo government remains steadfast in its pledge to dualize densely populated roadways across our key corridors. This dedication is aimed at significantly reducing congestion in these vital areas," stated the President.

Detailing the ongoing progress, President Akufo-Addo noted substantial advancements in the construction of the Suame Interchange, with key sections like the overpass on the Offinso road and segments around the Suame roundabout nearing 40% completion.

"The overpass on the Offinso road, Anomangye-Magazine road, Abusuakurowa, along with 15 kilometers of road encircling the Suame roundabout, are now approximately 40% finished. We anticipate their successful completion by year's end," he confirmed.

President Akufo-Addo's remarks coincided with the inauguration of a pivotal project: the dualisation of the Anhwiankwanta-Ahenema Kokoben road, spanning 20 kilometers. This development forms part of broader efforts to enhance transportation infrastructure across the Ashanti Region, promising reduced travel times, improved safety, and lowered vehicle operation costs.

As construction progresses, the President directed contractors to prioritize safety measures, ensuring minimal disruption to motorists throughout the project's duration.

The ongoing advancements underscore Ghana's commitment to fostering sustainable development through strategic infrastructure investments, marking a significant milestone in the nation's urban planning agenda.

This update not only highlights tangible progress but also reaffirms the government's proactive approach to enhancing public infrastructure, promising enduring benefits for communities and businesses alike.
