Five students arrested over alleged attack

In connection with a violent incident that left 12 pupils at the Gomoa Potsin T.I Ahmadiya Senior High School injured, five students from the school have been arrested.

In retaliation for an earlier fight between a colleague and a junior student, the suspects, who were mainly form 3 students, attacked SHS students at night in their hostel.

After the siren sounded for lights out, the vicious attackers, including Michael Donkor, aka Skinnyman, and some of his SHS 3 classmates, took advantage of the campus's darkness to commence their attack on the gullible SHS 2 pupils who were already in bed at the time.

Some of the victims were stabbed with knives and other objects, while others were hit with clubs.

These pupils used torchlights to blur their vision in order to put their victims in a more precarious position.

Despite the quick response of the school security staff and the Potsin Neighborhood Watchdog Committee, the attackers managed to wound 12 of their fellow pupils, who were taken  to the Potsin Polyclinic for treatment.

Findings show that the attack was retaliation for a previous argument between a SHS 2 and SHS 3 student on Friday, September 8, 2023, during which the SHS 2 student slapped his senior.

Even though an attacker had subtly warned a few SHS 2 students about the impending assault, they chose to keep the information to themselves until it happened.

In a related development, on late Saturday night, three unidentified individuals attacked another student who was traveling back to campus from the town. They stabbed him and stole his cell phone.

Following the event, the school's security team worked with the Gomoa Potsin Neighborhood Watch Committee to conduct investigations that resulted in the arrest of these five pupils, who were then turned over to the Gomoa Potsin police for additional inquiries.

Sources claim that parents of the accused have been invited, and a committee has been formed to investigate the incident, despite the school administrators' silence on the topic.

Some of the jailed students were involved in behaviors that were against the school's rules, and they had previously faced disciplinary procedures, according to sources from the school's administration.
